The City encourages public involvement throughout this process. To date, a number of community meetings have been held, as follows:

  • The City Council approves a public input process and Stakeholders Group for the project on June 11, 2013
  • The project is presented at a Community Meeting on November 6, 2013
  • The project is presented to the Stakeholders Group on January 8, 2014
  • A project update is presented at a Community Meeting on January 22, 2014
  • The project is presented to the Planning Commission on February 4, 2014
  • The project is presented to the Architectural Review Committee on February 18, 2014
  • The project is presented to the Historical Resources Committee on February 21, 2014.
  • The project is presented to the Stakeholders Group for alternative selection on March 12, 2014
  • The project is presented to the Traffic Commission on March 17, 2014
  • The project returned to the Traffic Commission on April 28, 2014
  • The project returned to the Stakeholders Group on November 19, 2014 for selection of alternatives to be included in the next phase of study
  • The project is presented to the City Council and alternatives to be included in the next phase of study are selected on January 27, 2015
  • Project update and certain design features were presented to the Stakeholders Group on August 26, 2015, October 7, 2015, November 2, 2015, and February 3, 2016.
  • Project update presented at a Community Meeting on March 2, 2016.
  • A project update was presented to the Stakeholders Group on December 7, 2016.
  • Proposed sidewalk material is presented to the Historical Resource Committee on December 9, 2016.
  • A project update is presented to the City Council and the replacement alternative is dropped from further consideration on January 24, 2017.
  • City Council adopts Mitigated Negative Declaration on September 26, 2017.
  • City Council approves purchase of Temporary Construction Easements (TCEs) on May 28, 2019.
  • City Council approves construction documents and authorizes the solicitation of construction bids on October 8, 2019.
  • City Council receives project update and information regarding tree removal and trimming activities on January 14, 2020.
  • City Council awards construction contract on February 25, 2020.
  • City Council approves habitat mitigation plan and specifications on August 25, 2020.
  • City Council awards habitat mitigation contract on October 13, 2020.
  • Project is completed and a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony is held on March 12, 2021.
